New Endings & Old Beginnings

Hey beautiful people!
First of all, I would like to apologize for being MIA for the last couple of days...you can thank Irene for that. But the hurricane did not rock me hard enough because I came out of it mostly unscathed. I lost my aunt the day of the disaster, it was an indirectly related event. Although I didn't know her that well, any family of mine is close to my heart--especially sisters of m y mother. On the bright side, I know that now my aunt Emily is safe up in Heaven with my beloved grandmother. It's a sad but uplifting event when someone passes. In my opinion anyway :)
R.I.P. Aunt Emily

Auntie Em... I love you.  You were a free spirit and you lived life on your own terms. We will miss you!

Love always,

Matisa & Kelsey

Selfishly Secluded

Inspiration:self

I'm selfishly secluded. I eat alone. I think alone. I work alone. I travel alone. Never have I done something with someone successfully--not for a long period of time at least. I'm terrible at group projects. I shut down and keep my opinions to myself. Never have I messed up a relationship. I shut down and keep my opinions to myself. Constantly I wait for someone to notice my quiet grace. Always do I long for something to take me away to a place where I can express myself indefinitely...Am I random? Yes. Am I rambling? Of course I am. That's what I do best. It runs in the family. So does thinking too much--but that gene shuts down when I write. Like right now. What am I doing? Why am I talking to myself pretending that someone is listening.
If you're listening, if you know I'm here, tell me.
I promise I'm not crazy. Just open.

Last Minute Mashup

Yo.
So, there I was, 11:00p.m., getting ready for bed when suddenly--
Oh goodness. I haven't posted on my blog today.
I know, right? Is a blog really more important than sleep?
To me, yes. I love this blog. I love feeling like I have something to say, do, teach. I love the constant hope that at least one of my posts has impacted or influnced someone in some kind of way. I love that I have something set in stone to look forward to doing every day. I also love that I can now add something to my list of, "things you like to do during your free time." You know, that list that you always give to someone new when the conversation is getting dull and they ask, "So, what do you like to do during your free time?" Mine consists of singing, playing guitar and piano, blogging, and dancing around my room in my pj's to the Jonas Brothers (I tend to leave that last part out). So, I guess, hoorah for new hobbies. Also, hoorah for the creatively open minded people who are brave and bold enough to create one of these things. Am I one of those people? I don't know.

But I sure like to think of myself as such.

Skreet Peeps

Hey ya'll
How was your monday night? Mine was good--well, as good as monday nights can be I guess :) My sister and I went to go see that new "scary" movie, Fright Night. If you love laughing at badly made movies, this is the one to go see. That and Pro-Life. Haha...ahhh, memories. Anywho, this post was going to be on our outfits, but we were too tired when we got back to take more pictures (yes, excuses excuses). So, I'll put up the two we did take, and then fill your brain with pictures of gorgeous people I found while walking in various places. Lovely? Yes.
;)

 Isn't he hot? Just sayin..
They were rude, but very cute ;)
He was the sweetest! And so adorable (perfect example of how-to wear graphic tees)
Love this chick's ink.

Graphic Tees?

Hey guys :)
I'm going to do something a teensie bit different today--can you say, tutorial? This "how-to" post is on how to style graphic tees for guys. I am not, in any way, telling you that this is how you have to style your graphic t's. I am posting this purely for inspiration. So, read-on and get inspired!

What you'll need:

Your favorite graphic tees

A nice pair of classic skinnies

Cool shoes (converse and vans work really well, or try high-tops for a hipster look)

Don't forget your button down shirt for layering! It adds a nice touch :)

Okay so, now that you've got everything you need, let's put it all together:

That's it, hope you guys found this helpful!
Now go--go wear your graphic tees with pride and style.
;)

Special thanks to Christian Rivera for being my model for the day :)

Second Hand Class

Hey lovely ladies (and handsome fellas)!
How was your week? Did you cause some "Ooh's" and "Aah's" in any way, shape, or form? I didn't. The highlight of my week was me getting a migraine this morning then sleeping it off for 4 hours. Is that sad? I don't think so.
Okay, actually there was another thing. You know that feeling you get when you create an outfit completely from thrift store items?
Maybe not but, it is uh-mazing. Especially when all the clothes were bought on "half-off wednesday's" from the Salvation Army...mmmm.
I'm sorry if that made you feel uncomfortable. Anywho!
Here is the outfit--enjoy the inspiration!

Summer 2011

Hey Boys & Brats!
Okay, that was rude.
I apologize.

So (I say "so" about 10 times in every post), I've been gone 4 like, 4 ever. I've been doing this new thing called "having fun." It's interesting. I do things like go to parties, shop, play guitar, shop, go to the beach, shop.
Did I mention SHOP.
Yes.
Well, I may as well take the time out of my fun filled day to catch ya'll up on a few things (and if you didn't realize, some of that was sarcasm).
Basically, I got a new job and celebrated the closing of my old restaurant job, did a lot of karaoke, started on a new "project" with my sister (I'll tell you more about that later), went to the beach, and saw a LOT of movies.
Most importantly, I made a big decision, but that's for a totally different post.
Hope you enjoy this little peek into my summer. Sorry it's been so long!

If you guys have questions about any outfits feel free to leave a comment! I normally put the details in, but the post was getting kind of long... :)
Peace, love, and style!
